Momo Chutney is fiery, spicy red color chutney which is relished with a plate of hot piping chicken or vegetable momo/dumplings. Momo is a very famous street food that is enjoyed by almost everybody. In India, there are many varieties of momo including tandoori momo, malai momo, or pan-fried momo, and this spicy momo chutney recipe can be relished with each and every form of a momo.

INGREDIENTS:

  • Tomato(ripened) – 3
  • Red chilli(dried) - 4
  • Onion – 1 medium
  • Garlic – 4 cloves
  • Ginger – 1 inch
  • Salt – ¼ tsp
  • Oil – 3 tbsp

METHOD:

  1. Take a deep bottom pan and add 2 cups of water to it. Then add the ripened tomatoes and let them boil on medium flame.
  2. When the tomato's skin starts peeling its skin, turn off the flame. Let it cool down and Set it aside.
  3. Now in a frying pan add oil and add onion(peeled and cut into cubes) and dried red chillies in it.
  4. Fry them on a medium flame for about 3 minutes or till golden color appears on the onions.
  5. Once the tomatoes cool down, remove the tomato skin.
  6. Now transfer the peeled tomatoes, fried onion and red dried chillies into a blender.
  7. Into the blender, add garlic cloves, ginger and salt. Blend to a smooth and thick paste without adding water.
  8. Enjoy this Spicy Red Momo Chutney with your favorite momo.
